Michelle Albert

Starting at The Centre on August 12th.

Michelle is a Counsellor and Psychotherapist who enjoys helping people better understand themselves and make sense of experiences that may feel confusing, overwhelming or difficult to change. She is particularly interested in understanding how life experiences shape the way we think, feel, relate to others and cope with life's challenges. Michelle believes that making sense of our experiences is often the first step towards meaningful change.

Over several years, Michelle has worked with adults experiencing a broad range of mental health challenges through both individual counselling and therapeutic groups. She has facilitated Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT) groups, helping clients develop practical skills to understand themselves, manage difficult emotions and navigate life's challenges.

Michelle has a particular interest in working with people living with complex trauma, Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder and addictive behaviours. She enjoys working with complex presentations and is driven by understanding how trauma, relationships and coping patterns influence emotional wellbeing and the way people experience themselves and the world around them.

Michelle has completed formal training in DBT, RO-DBT, Schema Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She is currently completing a Graduate Diploma of Psychology and continues to build on her knowledge through ongoing professional development.
