Classes
Discover a supportive space where you can grow, connect, and find your balance. Our skills classes are designed to help you build a more fulfilling and confident life worth living and worth sharing.
Skills Classes
Our classes and our groups run all year round, starting in a module format in 2026.
You are welcome to join our classes at the module you, and your practitioner, believe will be most helpful to begin with.

Individual support may vary depending on your needs and what supports you already have in place. It is recommended to see an individual therapist in addition to the skills classes to deep dive into personal ways to use the skills.

Please note it's not mandatory to see an individual clinician at The Centre if you already see a trained external psychologist.
The Centre will provide skills coaching sessions if your individual therapist is not trained in standard DBT or Radically Open DBT.

There is also an additional module for adolescents is called Walking the Middle Path, which was added to help adolescents and their families balance extremes. It focuses on reducing conflict and promoting understanding between teens and caregivers.

Key skills taught include:
• Validation: Recognizing and acknowledging others’ feelings and experiences without necessarily agreeing.
• Dialectical thinking: Avoiding “all-or-nothing” or “black-and-white” thinking; learning to hold two seemingly opposite ideas at once (e.g., “I can be independent and still need support”).
• Behavioral change strategies: Reinforcing positive behaviors and reducing problematic ones in a balanced, effective way.
