Classes

Discover a supportive space where you can grow, connect, and find your balance. Our skills classes are designed to help you build a more fulfilling and confident life worth living and worth sharing.

Skills Classes

Our classes and our groups run all year round, starting in a module format in 2026.

You are welcome to join our classes at the module you, and your practitioner, believe will be most helpful to begin with.

Individual support may vary depending on your needs and what supports you already have in place. It is recommended to see an individual therapist in addition to the skills classes to deep dive into personal ways to use the skills.

Please note it's not mandatory to see an individual clinician at The Centre if you already see a trained external psychologist.

The Centre will provide skills coaching sessions if your individual therapist is not trained in standard DBT or Radically Open DBT.

Teen Programs for RO DBT and DBT

A 10-Week Introduction to Dialectical Therapies

Adolescence is one of the most transformative, and challenging, periods of life. Between rapid social development, hormonal shifts, and academic pressure, the teenage brain undergoes what Dr. Dan Siegel calls a "Brainstorm." While this brings incredible creativity and growth, it can also feel overwhelming.

We've developed a specialized 10-week curriculum designed specifically for the teen years. Creating an informed RO DBT and DBT class that will teach teens skills that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.

What’s Inside the 10-Week Course?

We move beyond "just talking" to provide practical, evidence-based tools:

  • The Nervous System: Learning to recognize and regulate the body’s fight or flight response.

  • The Biology of Mood: Exploring how sleep, hormones, and blood sugar affect emotion regulation.

  • Distress Tolerance: Building a toolkit of "circuit-breaker" skills to regulate emotion quickly.

  • Emotional Deep Dives: Understanding primary emotions and the complex role of self-conscious feelings like shame or social anxiety.

  • The Power of Dialectics: Learning how to hold two "truths" at once (e.g., "I am doing my best" AND "I can still work toward change").

The Path Forward

This foundational course is designed to provide basics needed for interpersonal and connection skills.  Upon completion, participants can join our RO DBT and DBT modules focusing on Interpersonal Relationships and Social Connection Skills.

DBT and RO DBT Teen Programs for Relationships

DBT 10 Week Course

Best for: Teens who experience high-intensity emotions, frequent conflict, or "emotional storms" in their relationships.

The Focus: Finding Balance & Stability

  • DEAR MAN Skills: Learning how to ask for what you need and say "no" without damaging the relationship.

  • GIVE & FAST: Balancing being liked by others with keeping your own self-respect.

  • Walking the Middle Path: Navigating the "black and white" thinking that often leads to blow-ups.

  • Validation: How to make others feel heard while staying grounded in your own truth.

RO DBT 10 Week Course

Best for: Teens who lean toward "over-control"—those who may be high-achieving, socially anxious, or tend to mask their true feelings.

The Focus: Openness & Social Signaling

  • Radical Openness: Learning that vulnerability isn't a weakness—it’s the "glue" of real friendship.

  • Social Signalling: Understanding how our body language and facial expressions (our "signals") influence our connections

  • Flexible Responding: Breaking out of rigid "rules" about how social interactions "should" go.

  • Self-Enquiry: Learning to be curious about our "defensive" reactions instead of judging them.
